Leak Testing<\/strong><\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1581497179384{margin-top: 40px !important;border-left-width: 4px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;border-left-color: #414649 !important;border-left-style: solid !important;}”]A leak<\/strong> corresponds to the passage of a fluid<\/strong> or a gas<\/strong> for example, through a crack<\/strong> of a certain thickness in a wall.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This crack<\/strong> is usually complex, it does not follow a straight line and can have an evolutionary width between its beginning on one side and its end on the other.<\/p>\n

A leak<\/strong> cannot technically exist if there is no pressure difference<\/strong> on either side of the \u201ccracked\u201d wall.\u00a0This pressure can be the weight of a static liquid<\/strong> or the pressure of a compressed gas<\/strong> in need of escaping into the atmosphere, always from the area of higher pressure to the area of lower pressure.<\/p>\n

To quantify a leak<\/strong>, we talk about its leakage flow, defined by the following formula:[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2748″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It is therefore possible to calculate acceptable leakage flows<\/strong>, also called release threshold in the case of a test over a given period of time associated to an acceptable loss<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”2532″ alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image” css_animation=”bounceInRight”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1581498053621{margin-top: 20px !important;}”]A gas leak testing system using Helium gas, H2 gas,<\/strong> \u2026 includes, among other things:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. A tracer gas<\/strong>: both helium and hydrogen<\/strong> are used. Pure Helium<\/strong> can be used for more sensitivity or can be diluted for economic reasons.\u00a0Hydrogen<\/strong> can only be used as a tracer in a diluted form, typically in nitrogen<\/strong>, up to 5% (5% H2 95% N2). Hydrogen<\/strong> will be limited to sniffing testing<\/strong> in the atmosphere (see below), for the reason that many materials release hydrogen under vacuum, thus interfering the measure.<\/li>\n
  2. A leak detector<\/strong>: an essential mass spectrometer working under vacuum<\/strong>. The analysis cell is calibrated to detect and precisely quantify the helium or the hydrogen escaping from the tested products.<\/li>\n
  3. Vacuum pumps or groups of vacuum pumps<\/strong>: whether it is for a vacuum test<\/strong> or for a sniffing test<\/strong>, the products to be tested will be evacuated using a primary pump before pressurizing them. Similarly, the vacuum chamber<\/strong> as part of a global test (see below) will have to be evacuated up to 10-2 or 10-3 for example, for a sensitivity of the order of 10-6atm.cm3<\/sup>\/s.<\/li>\n
  4. A frame<\/strong>: according to your requirements, it is composed of a mechanically welded frame of polycarbonate protective panels and aluminum profiles. It also supports other components such as vacuum pump<\/strong> groups, electrical cabinets, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    An Operator Interface<\/strong> for an optimal management of the system: a touch screen to control the machine\u2019s automation, an additional flat screen to check the curves of the testing cycle (pressure, testing time, etc.), a LED light column for use in production\u2026 All configurations are possible.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” gap=”20″][vc_column_inner el_class=”blocmachine” width=”1\/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1566920018518{background-color: #ffffff !important;border-radius: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    4. The part is emptied from its air and then pressurized with helium<\/li>\n
    5. The helium escapes from the chamber and is quantified by the detector.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Aspersion Test<\/span><\/h3>\n

        1. The part is pumped by the detector<\/strong> itself or by a parallel pump<\/li>\n
        2. The detector is therefore connected to the part to be tested<\/li>\n
        3. The operator blows helium<\/strong> into the areas that may contain leaks<\/li>\n
        4. The helium enters through the crack and is quantified by the possible detector.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
