Process description
The piece to treat is placed in the work
chamber. Inside, a glow discharge of ionized gas is excited and
maintained by a High Frequency generator. The plasma is a mixture
of electrons, ions, photons, radicals
when a piece is immersed
inside, the surfaces react with the different active species.
The action of a plasma on a surface can lead to several reactions
:
Surface
structure modification
Grafting
of chemical bonding favouring mouillability and interfacial attraction
New
chemical bounding creation by splitting molecular chains
