Motor Vehicle Fuel Tanks Leak Detection
Fuel tanks for cars or motorized vehicles in general play a key role in the vehicle.
Its design must be such as to provide efficient storage and distribution of the fuel oil to the engine, but also to guarantee a maximum of safety to the end-users.
The quality of petrol or diesel tanks meets demanding standards and must be perfectly controlled.
Alliance Concept, with more than 25 years of experience and numerous projects carried out for the automotive industry, guarantees innovative and reliable tightness control systems which enable you to fully benefit from the advantage of the Helium and H2 tracer gas leak detection technology, etc.
Fuel Tanks Leak Detection for Cars
To meet the requirements in terms of reliability and sturdiness of the leak detection machine, we can produce stable systems enabling you to easily test your car fuel tanks.
Our know-how guarantees both the integrity of the parts (no distortion) and very short cycles.
Fuel Tanks Leak Detection for Scooters
Fuel tanks tightness, whether aluminum or plastic, can be precisely tested by leak detection using Helium or H2 tracer gas. To perform this action, we have developed a compact detection system adapted to the chamber’s size. A test in global mode in the vacuum chamber can be used to detect the presence of a leak by recovering in the chamber the helium injected into the tank and which escapes, as the case may be, through the cracks.
Fuel Tanks Leak Detection Systems Technical Data:
- Test in global mode (chamber)
- Possibility of sniffing mode detection with a “RLD” sensor (Long Distance Sniffing)
- Primary pumping of the chamber and the part
- Volume of the parts to be tested: from 20 to 100+ litres
- Cycle time <60s
AdBlue Tanks Leak Detection
The AdBlue, liquid urea solution, is the cornerstone of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).
The nitrogen oxides, coming from the exhaust pipes from cars and trucks, are effectively reduced to nitrogen and water in the form of steam.
In order to ensure the tightness of the Adblue tanks, first level automotive suppliers rely on our know-how in the field of leak detection with Helium and H2 tracer gases.
We have developed this semi-automated leak detection machine with two workstations, enabling to make effective use of the operator’s down-time.
Adblue tanks are globally tested under vacuum. They are inserted into a chamber in which the vacuum is made. The part is pressurized at a few dozen mbar with helium that will escape through its possible leaks.
It is the helium which is thus quantified by the leak detector (a mass spectrometer calibrated on the helium) which is connected to the testing chamber.
In order to reduce costs, primary and secondary pumping are shared, as is the leak detector. As for the part pumping, it is fully dedicated.
AdBlue Tanks Leak Detection Machine Technical Data:
- Dual-station system to make effective use of the down-time
- Global testing under vacuum with the possibility of performing specific testing with a sniffing sensor and a dedicated cycle
- Primary pumping of the AdBlue tanks to be detected
- Secondary pumping of the chambers under vacuum
