Following the installation of a CT200 Clustertool, we recently organised an event in CCC "Coating Competence Center" of the EMPA in Dübendorf (Zurich).

The Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (in German Eidgenössische Materialprüfungs- und Forschungsanstalt, hence the name EMPA) is a Swiss research dedicated to materials and technology applied sciences. For over 100 years since its creation in 1880, the EMPA has been a traditional institution for the testing of materials. Since the late 1980, it became rather an interdisciplinary research laboratory.

On that "CT200 day" we were glad to gather around this machine about thirty local contacts and talk about its performances and its advantages.

CT200 combines all knowledge gained by Alliance Concept with 25 years experience in the fields of thin film deposition. This machine is particular due to its size, and also to its modular principle. The possibility to realize multilayers in various chambers are indeed almost unlimited. The vacuum robot is the heart of the equipment. It has been developed by our team to meet the high reliability demanded for such a complex device.

The link provided below presents a report of the presentation of the CCC made by the Swiss television during its opening ceremony a couple of weeks before. On the foreground one can see our machine.
