JPEG Final step in the surface preparation for optical items, for example telescope mirrors, ion beam polishing process is the ultimate technology to reduce surface roughness.

Based on the displacement of an ion gun in front of an optical piece, this technology is used, under certain conditions, to work on a residual roughness in the nanometer range.

The implementation of this technology requires, among other things, a perfect knowledge in movements under vacuum conditions. Indeed to perform ion milling on an optical part with a radius of curvature, the ion source must be mounted on a multi-axis robot ensuring uniform sweep of the entire surface to be treated.

The design of such equipment requires a multidisciplinary approach and knowledge that Alliance Concept will pull at your service to build your new system.
